Monthly Meetings Minutes

ROCKFORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
ROCKFORD, OHIO
JANUARY 10, 2008

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce held its regular monthly meeting at 7:30am on January 10, 2008 in the Rockford Village Hall. Breakfast was catered by Edie and Dorothy Bader. Nineteen members were present. Alice Thieman gave the invocation.

Outgoing president, Bryan Sutton called the meeting to order. Minutes from the December meeting were read by the secretary. Terra Henkle made a motion to approve the minutes. Alice Thieman seconded the motion. Motion passed. Bob Thompson gave the treasurer’s report and went over the appropriations for 2008. Bill Now made a motion to accept the report and approve the appropriations. Martha Baltzell seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Emma Lou Shaffer made a motion to elect officers for 2008. They are as follows: President, Terra Henkle; Vice president, Bryan Sutton; Secretary, LuAnn Sigler; and Treasurer, Bob Thompson. Gail Thompson seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Charmaine Bettinger announced that the Business Expo will be held on April 12th. Barb Hamilton, Bryan Sutton, and Bob Thompson will join her on the committee. She will contact other members to help.

Twyla Hayes suggested that the officers decide what the Board of Directors responsibilities should be and work on by-laws.

Flags in the downtown area need to be replaced. Mary Beougher will contact the Legion about flags.

Twyla Hayes discussed the 8 Minute Acceleration Vocation that will be held at the Parkway high school on April 25th. Bob Thompson made a motion to support this event. Barb Hamilton seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The secretary announced that the Combined Charities Drive has a preliminary total of $1,474.00.

Twyla Hayes gave an update on the website.

With no other business to be discussed, Charmaine Bettinger made a motion to adjourn. Ken Obringer seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:35am.

Fast Facts

A major Main Street reconstruction project was undertaken in 1999. The Main Street has new curbs, sidewalks, decorative lampposts, trees, and brick trim in the sidewalks.

A new sewer system and a new water tower was installed in 2000.
