Pool Goal Set & Fund Raisers are Underway
The Rockford Area Development Corporation (RADC) has appointed a Pool Sub-Committee to work on a new pool in Rockford. The committee which consists of Nancy Leighner, Co-chair; Sue Barna; Betty Belna; Bill Miller; Tom Rogers; and Todd McKee, Co-chair interviewed community people after the old pool had to be closed last year. This is the first time in a long while that the Village of Rockford has been without a swimming option. According to the committee, those interviewed feel that the area needs a pool. A fund was already in place through the Leota Braun Charitable Foundation.
The November 14, 2009 Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. event bought in $7000.00 for the Rockford Swimming Pool fund.
